Getting Active (The Sunday Post)

I’ve been getting active this week as I’ve finally run out of excuses not to exercise. My main goals are to feel more energetic, increase my stamina and improve my overall health and fitness.

Letter “Y” is for Yoga and Your Well-being. During these stressful times, it’s important to practise self-care and to take time to relax and unwind. Holding onto stress can be bad for both our mind and body, but luckily there are many things that can help, such as yoga, mindfulness and meditation.
Letter “E” is for Exercise. We all know how important exercise is for keeping our body and mind healthy. Now that gyms and fitness groups are closed for the lockdown, we’re going to have to get more creative about keeping fit from home. I’ve compiled a list of ideas and some free online classes aimed at keeping us all active.
Letter “D” is for Dance, something I love to do! Dancing is a good way to keep fit, relieve stress and have fun. I like it because it’s exercise that doesn’t feel like work-it feels like a party! I often put on some feel good music and have a boogie around my kitchen and it always makes me feel great.
During the lockdown, lots of children’s entertainers, DJs and clubs are offering online parties, discos and raves and there are also plenty of dance schools running online classes. So, if you’ve always wanted to have a go at dance, now is a good time to start!
