Q is for Quick Reads #AtoZChallenge

For letter Q, I’ve gathered together some of my favourite quotes from quick reads such as short stories, comics and novellas.

For letter Q, I’ve gathered together some of my favourite quotes from quick reads such as short stories, comics and novellas.
For letter P, I’ve compiled some quotes from some of my favourite poets, including Philip Larkin, T. S Eliot, Maya Angelou, Edgar Allen Poe and Spike Milligan.
For letter O, I’ve chosen dystopian author George Orwell. I borrowed my grandad’s copy of Animal Farm when I was about 14, and though I didn’t fully understand the political allegory, I found it very interesting.
For letter N, I’ve chosen fantasy author Neil Gaiman. It’s unusual for me to watch a film before reading the book, but that’s what happened with both Stardust and Coraline.
For letter M, I’m focusing on Maggie Stiefvater, another of my auto-buy fantasy authors. I enjoyed the Wolves of Mercy Falls series as a teen, then the Raven Cycle series as a young adult, and more recently I discovered The Scorpio Races.
For letter L, I had lots of authors to choose from, including Lauren Oliver, Lauren James and Lauren DeStefano. But I had to go for Laini Taylor, my ultimate fantasy author.
For letter K, I’ve chosen to feature quotes by fantasy author Kiersten White. I read her novel Paranormalcy years ago, and more recently I was gifted her Buffy the Vampire novel Slayer, which I’ve unfortunately not had time to read yet.
For letter J, I’ve chosen one of my favourite contemporary sci-fi authors, Jessica Khoury. She explores the ethics of emerging science such as genetic engineering, cloning and artificial intelligence through the Corpus trilogy: Origin, Vitro and Kalahari.
For letter I, I’ve chosen quotes from I am Change by Suzy Zail. It’s an eye-opening and emotional story about life for a young girl in a Ugandan village.
For letter H, I’ve chosen to focus on one of my favourite young adult dystopian series, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
