I bought My Life as a Rat by Joyce Carol Oates because it was chosen for my work book club. It’s a contemporary drama that sounds like it will be far out of my comfort zone.
I downloaded Wings of Fury by Emily R. King for free from Amazon First Reads. It’s a mythological fantasy about the Greek god Cronos and his son.
This week’s haul is mostly fantasy fiction that I bought using some gift cards I had for my birthday and Christmas. One of the gift cards was a National Book Token, and I wasn’t able to spend it on any of my usual book websites, so I ended up ordering from Blackwell’s. I was really impressed with the service and the books all came with beautiful bookmarks.

This weekend I’m taking part in Dewey’s 24 Hour Reverse Readathon. Like the original readathon, the idea is to read as much as you can for 24 hours and any reading material counts (including eBooks, audiobooks, manga and reading to your children).
