Throughout April 2022, I took part in the Blogging from A-Z Challenge for the tenth time! This year, my readers voted for the theme “My Favourite Book Quotes“. So I collected together the quotations that move me, inspire me, and make me smile. Below is the full list of posts, followed by my thoughts on what went well and what I could improve on next year.
Well done to everyone who completed the challenge. Look out for details of the road trip starting on May 16th and consider purchasing some merch.

A-Z of Favourite Quotes (Master List)
A is for Alice Walker & Angie Thomas
I is for I am Change by Suzy Zail
Y is for Your Favourite Quotes
What went well
- Readers seemed to enjoy the quotes and several returned to leave lovely comments.
- The topic I chose was simple to prepare and it didn’t take too much time to write each post.
- I managed to schedule a week’s worth of posts in advance before I went on holiday.
- I discovered some great new blogs to follow.
- I shared all my posts on Facebook and Twitter.
What I could improve next time
- I didn’t have much time to reply to comments left or visit other blogs due to work, a family holiday and illness. I will definitely be visiting many more blogs during the road trip.
- I was a little late posting a couple of posts for the same reasons.
- I had fewer visitors to my blog this year, probably because I didn’t do so much blog hopping or sharing my posts.
- I forgot to link up my posts on the daily A-Z Facebook thread this time.
Recommended A to Z Challenge Blogs
The A-Z challenge is all about discovering new blogs and making new online friends as well as connecting with our existing blogging buddies.
There were some blogs I particularly enjoyed this year (themes in brackets). I will keep adding to this list as I discover more blogs from the road trip.
- J Lenni Dorner (a continuous speculative fiction short story)
- Black and White (how to make a fantastical creature)
- Joy’s Book Blog (code-breaking in World War II)
- Mainely Write (a poem a day inspired by an image and a fake word)
- Fiction Pies (flash fiction driven book recommendations)
- The Other Side (conspiracy theories)
- Tasha’s Thinkings (Youtube-what they don’t tell you!)
- Walking Humbly With My Dog (no theme)
- Kalpana Writes (song of the open road)
- The Old Shelter (enter the new woman)
- Ramblin’ With AM (From Florida to Vermont With Stops In Between)

A huge thank you to the A to Z Challenge team: Arlee Bird (founder) @ Tossing it Out, J Lenni Dorner (captain) @ Blog of Author J Lenni Dorner, Zalka Csenge Virág @ The Multicolored Diary, John Holton @ The Sound of One Hand Typing, Jayden R Vincente @ J R Vincente Erotica Writer and Anjela Curtis (graphics) @ AngelaCurtis.com. They do an amazing job of organising the challenge every year.

Did you take part in the A to Z Challenge this year? How did it go? Will you be joining me on the road trip? Are you thinking of joining next year?
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the 2022 A to Z Challenge. Great job on completing the alphabetic posts!

Tossing It Out
Thanks, Arlee. It was lots of fun as always.
So great to meet you even if it is on reflections day.
My Reflection
Nice to meet you too, Leslie. I’ll make sure I check out your posts.
I hope to catch up with your posts later. There are so many blogs…
Sue’s A to Z reflections 2022
I know, it can be rather overwhelming! I’m making my way through more each weekend.
Thanks for the shout-out. I won’t be doing the Road Trip — I visited each blog on the master list at least once and I prefer to keep the A-Z confined to April.
Ronel visiting for A-Z Challenge Reflections 2022
That’s fair enough. I wish I had been that organised. Still, I look forward to working my way through the list.
Firstly, thank you for visiting my blog! Secondly, I am amazed that you’ve been doing this for 10 straight years, wow! A big salute to you. Even though I signed up in the master list that I would visit other blogs, I did start out doing that initially but then couldn’t manage both writing and reading, so I decided to leave the reading for later! So, here I am! Thirdly, thank you so much for featuring me in your recommended blogs list, that’s a very pleasant and lovely surprise! Without further ado, off I go visiting your posts!
Hi Deepa, thanks for visiting. I’ve certainly had my ups and downs through the last decade of A-Z. Some years I didn’t complete the whole alphabet, others I wrote very long, detailed posts and visited nearly all the blogs on the master list. I also found I had to leave the reading for later this year. Looking forward to catching up with the rest of the blogs during the road trip.
Thanks for the shout-out! You’re certainly ahead of me in using multiple platforms for your posts. I can just about manage the blog. lol
I hope the schedule smooths out (and especially that the illness is past) and you get to feel less hectic about visiting the other blogs.
I just set it to share automatically when I hit publish. It’s a very handy feature that I think comes with the Jetpack plugin and saves me a lot of time. Thanks for your kind words. Things are settling down and I’m starting to feel somewhat better now.
Congratulations! I feel like such a loser! I’m going through the list of reflections, which so far has been a success (when I started going through the master list for the challenge I ran into so many snags) but this has been so fulfilling because I’m finding so many new blogs I want to come back and visit. Your theme is right up my ally and I’ll definitely be back during road trip to catch up.
Cheers,
Reflections from A2Z 2022Barbie
You’re not a loser! There have been years I haven’t managed to finish the challenge or had other issues along the way. If you had fun writing your posts and met some new blogging buddies then I’d say that it was a success! Thanks for visiting.
Firstly thank you for your visits to my blog and for the mention above. Next congratulations on making it to the end of the challenge and for the 10th time! I love the look of your site and the your theme was great too. I’m just getting around to doing more of the reading of blogs from the list. April seemed to fly by and there never seemed to be enough time to post and visit.
Thanks so much, Wendy. April always seems to pass in the blink of an eye. I’m very glad they created the road trip so we can still get around to visit everyone.
WOW, ten years!!! My, that’s amazing!
This is only my third proper time!!!
Congratulations!!!
I really did enjoy reading your quotes from the books!! I got to know about so many other books to add to my TBR!
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it!
Oh! Favourite quotes, what a brilliant theme! Congratulations on completing the challenge.
Thank you!
I missed you during the month. Thanks for including your post list in this reflections post! I wish I’d had the time to do that, but really just cranked out a quick overall reflection when the time came.
I did it as I went along so it wasn’t such a big job at the end. It was about the only thing I did manage to organise, though.
