The Latest in my life 🌤️
I’ve had a pretty good week. I still have a tension headache and a stiff neck, but I’ve finally managed to get a face-to-face appointment with my GP, so hopefully, I’ll be on the mend soon.
Work is busy and lots of staff are absent, but I have enjoyed working 1:1 with a student and the team is brilliant; we are all helping each other and muddling through.
I joined a local choir on Wednesday night and had a great laugh with a friend from work. At the moment, we are practising the songs “Only You” (Flying Pickets), “Here Comes the Sun” and Take That’s “Rule the World”, which are all personal favourites. I’ve never had any vocal training so I was a little nervous, but I came home buzzing. My husband asked me if I’d been out for a drink afterwards. I’m really looking forward to our next session as it did me so much good.
I also had a lovely meal out with two friends from work yesterday. It was so nice to have a good chat and relax together for a change.
My daughter was much calmer and happier this week too. The spring sunshine and the sight of daffodils and snowdrops blooming everywhere is making me smile and look towards the future.

My daughter and I are reading Tom Gates- Genius Ideas together, which she seems to be enjoying. I’m almost finished Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before? by Dr Julie Smith. But I’m really craving some fantasy fiction!
Watching and Listening 📺
- This week’s episode of The Apprentice, where they had to make their own baby food, was hilarious. Both teams were as bad as each other! I feel sorry for Lord Sugar having to choose a business partner from this sorry lot!
- I enjoyed the first episode of Picard season 2, especially seeing some classic characters from TNG. I haven’t caught up with Friday’s episode yet.
- My daughter loved Pixar’s Turning Red on Disney+. I’ve only seen half of it so far but it seems funny. We love that there are two characters wearing glucose monitors on their arms. My daughter was so excited to see someone just like her.
- We’ve also seen the first half of the new West Side Story. I’m not sure what I think of it so far. It was never my favourite musical though, to be honest. I think most of the big songs are in the second half.

How was your week? Do you enjoy singing? Are there many signs of spring where you are? Let me know in the comments!
I think I’ll have Here Comes The Sun in my head now for a while. 🙂 Good song, though. And spring makes everything better I think!
The lyrics are great when you think about the pandemic as well.
