Life, the Universe, and Everything According to My Five-Year-Old

Today is the final day of the Blogging from A-Z Challenge! My readers voted for the theme “Life, the Universe, and Everything According to My Five-Year-Old”. During bedtime discussions and colouring sessions, my daughter has been providing the answers to the philosophical problems and unsolved mysteries that have puzzled humanity’s greatest thinkers for centuries.

How to feel zen

Me: How can we feel peaceful and calm inside?

L: Hmm…talking, sleeping and relaxing.

Me: What are some good ways to relax?

L: Play with slime, do painting, snuggle with family. Being in the ocean or sitting and reading a book.

Me: Why do you think it’s good to relax?

L: Because if we never relax we get distressed.

Me: If we’re feeling stressed, how can we calm down?

L: Count to four then tell somebody what happened and have a hug.

“count to four” is unique. Now I wonder why four?
I have finally used all your prompts. The last one is in my Z post, if you can believe it!

  2. Your daughter is a delight. “Count to four then tell somebody what happened and have a hug” is clearly fabulous advice. I’ve enjoyed your series – thanks to you and your daughter for making April extra enjoyable.

  3. With the exception of playing with slime, those are some of my favorite ways to relax, and I could use a trip to the ocean right about now.

Congratulations on completing the A to Z Challenge!
