This month I’m taking part in the Blogging from A-Z Challenge and will be posting every day except Sundays. My readers voted for the theme “Life, the Universe, and Everything According to My Five-Year-Old”. During bedtime discussions and colouring sessions, my daughter will finally be providing the answers to the philosophical problems and unsolved mysteries that have puzzled humanity’s greatest thinkers for centuries.
Do aliens exist and, if so, what are they like?
Xenology is the scientific study of alien biology, culture, and so on. I wanted to see what my daughter thought of the possibility of life on other planets and what she thought aliens might be like.
Me: Do you think aliens exist?
L: Yes. They live on the moon.
Me: What do you think aliens are like?
L: They’re green and they have little antlers at the top of their head with dots on their body. They speak funny. They go “bee-bee-babba, bee-bee-babba”. And they live in one big, round house. That’s the moon, really.
Me: Do you think they’re friendly?
L: Yes.
Me: What do they eat?
L: Hmm…I don’t know.
Me: What do they do for fun?
L: Play tag and ride on bikes.
Me: Do you think aliens will come to earth one day?
L: Yes, they’ll come to play with us.

Oh, I do like the idea of aliens riding bikes on the moon. You should ask her what sort of aliens live on Venus!
