This month I’m taking part in the Blogging from A-Z Challenge and will be posting every day except Sundays. My readers voted for the theme “Life, the Universe, and Everything According to My Five-Year-Old”. During bedtime discussions and colouring sessions, my daughter will finally be providing the answers to the philosophical problems and unsolved mysteries that have puzzled humanity’s greatest thinkers for centuries.
Are some jobs more important than others?
Me: Why do you think people have to work?
L: That makes them get lots of money to buy things.
Me: Should everyone work if they’re able to do so?
Me: For how many hours?
Me: What if someone is too poorly to work?
L: Then we call someone and get them to do the work and give the money to the sick person so they can get medicine.
Me: Do you think some jobs are more important than others?
L: Yes. Like being a doctor. Because if there was no doctors, people if they broke their leg or arm they would need a doctor really badly and they wouldn’t have a doctor. Also, firefighters because if there was no firefighters and there was a fire in our house and there was a big flame like a big wave coming towards us we would just be burnt. Policemen too because if there was no policemen and there was a burglar in our house who snuck in at night and stole a lot of things then it would be really bad. That’s a really serious job.
Me: Do you think people who do those jobs should be paid more money than other people?
L: Yes because they help people lots. They try their best.
Me: What do you want to be when you grow up?
L: A superhero. Superheroes are the importantest ones.
Me: What sort of things will you have to do?
L: Save people by rescuing them if they’re stuck up a tree.
Me: How much money do you think you should get paid for that?
L: 50 dollars a day. Actually, a week.
Me: Do you think it’s important to find a job you enjoy?
L: Yes because it makes your work happy.
What’s your dream job? Let me know in the comments!
