This month I’m taking part in the Blogging from A-Z Challenge and will be posting every day except Sundays. My readers voted for the theme “Life, the Universe, and Everything According to My Five-Year-Old”. During bedtime discussions and colouring sessions, my daughter will finally be providing the answers to the philosophical problems and unsolved mysteries that have puzzled humanity’s greatest thinkers for centuries.
What are the pros and cons of technology?
Me: Do you know what technology is?
L: Yes! It’s phones and TVs and iMacs and laptops and computers and Alexas. And also….a robot.
Me: Yes, well done. What do you think is the best thing about technology?
L: It’s that they can do lots of stuff and things like watch YouTube, watch DVDs, play games and do work and call people.
Me: Is there anything bad about technology?
L: Work. Because it’s distressing.
Me: Do you mean my work or your schoolwork?
L: Everyone’s work.
Me: Do you think it’s okay to be using technology like our phones and laptops all day long?
L: No, because it’s quite crazy.
Me: What do you think technology will be like in the future, when you’ve grown up?
L: Big, tall TVs and you can play video games with remote controls. And we will have cars that fly really fast and can bump into each other. They’re called bumper flying cars and they have helmets with them. You will get a cooker-booker too, that is a cooker with a book of recipes on the top that has a stander. We can ride to space in a spaceship. If it’s a toy spaceship you have to find a way to shrink yourself or just go to shrink land. We can go all the way to the sun but we can’t stand on it or it will burn your skin. And you need sunscreen.

Do you think the benefits of technology outweigh the potential problems? What do you think tech will be like in the future? Let me know in the comments!
She’s got some great ideas for future technologies.
Maybe we can invent some new sunscreen technologies, too. I’m not sure the flying bumper cars sound so good, though – I think I’d get sick!
Black and White: T for Tatooine
Her ideas for future tech are more exciting than the ones I came up with for my books. I had ‘Technology’ as part of my ‘T’ post as well today.

The flying car dream never goes away, does it? I think every generation hopes for that. We may be stuck with airplanes.
Also, thanks again for all those word prompts. I used another on my T post.
Great answers
