This month I’m taking part in the Blogging from A-Z Challenge and will be posting every day except Sundays. My readers voted for the theme “Life, the Universe, and Everything According to My Five-Year-Old”. During bedtime discussions and colouring sessions, my daughter will finally be providing the answers to the philosophical problems and unsolved mysteries that have puzzled humanity’s greatest thinkers for centuries.
Does magic exist?
Me: Do you think magic exists?
L: No, ’cause if I wanna be a superhero I don’t have magic powers! When I try it doesn’t work.
Me: But do you think some people might have magic powers?
L: Yeah. Some people can do magic. But not me.
Me: Who can do magic?
L: Harry Potter….Santa, the tooth fairy and the Easter bunny.
Me: Where do you think magic comes from?
L: From a wand, of course!
Me: Ah, I see. Are there any other ways we could do magic?
L: Well, I think I could do magic in my dreams. I had real wings to fly, not pretend ones. But when it’s the morning I try to get my wings and I can’t get them.
Me: What can people do with their magic?
L: [grinning] Make chocolate appear, make thirteen mummies appear…
Me: Is that what you would do if you were magic?
L: Yep. And I could eat thirteen chocolates in one go!

Do you believe in magic? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
Yes, I would also like to have magic powers to make chocolate appear at will – especially thin dark chocolate peanut butter cups which are so popular they can’t keep them replenished on the grocery store/CVS shelves. Mummies I’m not so sure of though.

I believe in miracles, and they are like magic!
Also, I’m slowly using the word prompts you generously provided.

True! Oh brilliant, I will pop over and take a look.
I can do magic in my dreams, too. =)
Black and White: M for Middle-earth
That’s some smart thinking! We could all use some magic in our lives now and then.

I love that she thinks magic people would conjure up chocolate and thirteen mummies. Weekends In Maine
