Life, the Universe, and Everything According to My Five-Year-Old

This month I’m taking part in the Blogging from A-Z Challenge and will be posting every day except Sundays. My readers voted for the theme “Life, the Universe, and Everything According to My Five-Year-Old”. During bedtime discussions and colouring sessions, my daughter will finally be providing the answers to the philosophical problems and unsolved mysteries that have puzzled humanity’s greatest thinkers for centuries.

What is love?

Me: What do you think love is?

L: Love. Love is love.

Me: But what does that mean?

L: It means that you’re nice to someone and you don’t hurt their feelings.

Me: Why not?

L: Because you like them as big as the whole wide world!

Me: What does it feel like to love someone?

L: It feels nice…relaxing and it feels good.

Me: And how does it feel when someone loves you?

L: Happy!

Me: Who do you love?

L: Mum, Dad, all my family. That’s a lot of people.

Me: How can we show our love to others?

L: By being kind. Being quiet when they tell you to. And giving them a big cuddle and kisses.
