The Latest in my Life

We’ve just had our second week of lockdown in the UK and I’m still in fairly good spirits. I went into work to supervise the children of keyworkers on Tuesday, and it was nice to have a change of scene. The rest of the time I’ve been working from home, doing lots of fun activities with my daughter and video calling family and friends. Virtual choir and meditation sessions have been particularly fun.

We baked and decorated cupcakes the other day, which was fun and relaxing.

The weather has been lovely lately and the signs of spring are everywhere to be enjoyed. This time of year always fills me with hope and positivity. I love to see the sunny daffodills lining the roads and the bumble bees buzzing around our lavender plants.

My current mood summed up in a gif:

What I’m Writing

I’m continuing work on my fantasy novel and also planning a piece for the spring WEP challenge. The theme is “antique vase”.

And of course I’ve got Blogging from A-Z Challenge posts going up daily. I’ve prescheduled them up until the 14th April now and I’m hoping to keep a lead of at least a week.

Book Talk

I’m still in a bit of a reading slump, but I’ve signed up for Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon on the 25th April. I figured I might as well have a go this year now I won’t have to get up early for work.

Entertainment

I watched the new live action Aladdin film on Disney+ and I really liked it! Normally I’m not too bothered about remakes because their almost identical to the original so it seems pointless. But this one had a different script and there were a few twists on the original that I really liked.

I’m still loving the Mandalorian but just wish I could binge watch it all in one go instead of having to wait a week for a new episode.

I’ve been listening to more music lately and having lots of random dance sessions in my kitchen to boost my mood. I’ll share some of my playlists on my “M is for Music” post on the 15th.

Over to you!

How was your week? Hope you are all coping okay and feeling well.

Beautiful cupcakes. Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon sounds like a fun thing to join now that I have time. Happy reading 😉

  2. Happy to hear you’re having somewhat of a fun time at home!
Thoses cupcakes are so cute! 💕

Ahh daffodils are my favorite! I don’t think we have them in Canada yet.. BUT it has been feeling more like spring lately!! Not too-too hot yet, but hey.. it feels less like in the minus-something and I can get off work and remove my coat so – i’ll take it!

    • Thanks. We’re actually having beautiful weather here in the UK, which is very rare. Thanks for visiting and have a lovely week.
