The Latest in my Life
This has been my first week of lockdown in the UK, and it hasn’t been all that bad. I’m missing family, but we’ve been able to have some good video chats and I’m messaging people more than ever. I’m trying not to dwell too much on the bad news in the media and focus on the little things that bring me joy.
Luckily, I have plenty to do at home so I haven’t been going stir crazy. I’ve been making some work for my Literacy groups, having online meetings with my colleagues and keeping my 4-year-old entertained with arts and crafts. I even took part in a virtual choir with my school on Thursday, which was good fun.
What I’m Writing

My guest post for the WEP went live on Tuesday. It’s all about Wellbeing for Writers During Challenging Times.
I’ve also been working on my posts for the Blogging from A-Z Challenge, which begins on Wednesday. My theme is “Family Fun at Home” and I’m putting together lists of ideas and resources for keeping the whole family happy and entertained while on lockdown or socially distancing.
Book Talk
I haven’t been doing all that much reading lately, which is a shame. I usually read just before bed but I’ve been feeling very tired and wanting to watch fun things instead. I have just started reading Heat Index by Deborah Kelly though, and hope to bring you a review soon.
Entertainment
I enjoyed the finale of Picard. Despite being somewhat predictable, it was nice to see certain actor’s cameos and it was a satisfying ending. I’m also enjoying Patrick Stewart’s daily sonnets on Twitter and Facebook. His voice is so soothing and just what I need right now.
My sister is letting me mooch off her Disney+ account (not all superheroes wear capes) so we just watched Pixar’s Coco the other night for the first time. It was such a cute, poignant story and the ending left me in floods of tears!
We’ve now just started watching the Mandalorian and I really loved the first couple of episodes. It reminds me of Clint Eastwood’s spaghetti Westerns, but in space. And baby yoda is just as cute as the memes implied.

Over to you!
How was your week? Is it full lockdown in your area? What have you been doing to stay positive?
I’ve enjoyed the launch of Disney Plus this week too! With being in lockdown I went on a nostalgia kick with my son and we watched Sister Act and The Mighty Ducks… The Mandalorian is on the list for this week. And I also enjoyed the ending of Picard. 🙂
Hope you have a good week! Two more weeks of lockdown to go… Unless they extend it. :/
I love Sister Act! Hope you enjoyed The Mandalorian.
Thank goodness for technology huh? With all this lockdown stuff. At least we can still stay in touch with people, more or less.
My reading has been down too, sadly.
I really want to watch The Mandalorian, I’ve heard good things.
Hope you have a good week!
Yeah, we’re so lucky to have so many different options. I definitely recommend you watch the Mandalorian if you get the chance.
Argh I love Coco! I must’ve seen it at least three times – it’s so awesome and cute and lovely! XD <3
I can’t believe I hadn’t see it before now. Definitely a new favourite.
