The Blogging from A-Z Challenge continues today. Throughout April I’m posting about my life as a writer, including my inspirations, frustrations and celebrations.
This year, my fellow authors and I, along with The IWSG and Dancing Lemur Press, have been busy promoting our YA romance anthology, Masquerade: Oddly Suited. It’s been great to get a taste of what marketing a book is like from the perspective of an author, as usually I’m promoting the books I’ve read and reviewed as a blogger. Here are some of the things we planned together:
Story Spotlights
L.G Keltner put together our author page on the IWSG anthologies blog and suggested that we each write a post about the inspiration behind our stories. I’ve really enjoyed reading about all the different thought processes we had when writing and the excerpts made me really excited to read the whole book. You can read all the spotlights here. Angela Brown‘s will be up on Wednesday.
Blog Tour
I used my experience of participating in blog tours as a book blogger to organise our own tour for Masquerade, which was a daunting task! But it was actually great fun to put together. I was pleased to get so many responses from authors and bloggers so we ended up with a good mix of book spotlights, guest posts and interviews running from the 18th March to 4th May. It’s fun to find out more about the other authors and also get to know the readers who have posted comments.

Masquerade Ball Blog Hop
Elizabeth Mueller came up with the brilliant idea of holding a ‘Masquerade Ball’ for our characters. From the 18th to the 30th April, we will each be posting an exclusive teaser written by one of the authors. The teaser will be a scene based on one of the stories which you will NOT find in the book! Elizabeth has created some beautiful fan art to go alongside it.
On release day (30th April) we will all be ‘unmasking’ our own characters and revealing which author we hosted. I hope you’ll join us for all the fun! You can find the schedule and more info here.
Live Author Q & A
The authors of Masquerade: Oddly Suited are hosting a live Q & A session on Discord! Join us on Sat 11th May from 1:00 pm EST / 6:00 pm GMT to find out more about the anthology and the contributing authors and ask any burning questions you may have!

I’ve done a few blog posts on hops for other authors, and they were fun ranging in genres from children’s to historical.
