This week in my life

I’ve had a great week with lots to celebrate. I finished work for the summer break and I hit my word count goal for Camp NaNoWriMo, which I’m so pleased about. It was my birthday on Monday so I enjoyed a drink and a cake with my mum and sister a couple of days before, had a celebration with my in-laws and then set off on holiday.

We spent the week in a caravan in Hunstanton, a seaside town in Norfolk on the East coast of England. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed relaxing on the beach. We went for a ride on an amphibious vehicle known as ‘The Wash Monster’ which does sea tours down the coast. We also went swimming, visited a sea life centre, had a few delicious meals out and enjoyed some evening entertainment. It was the perfect family break.

This week on the blog

I didn’t do any blogging this week because I was away, but I had a few posts scheduled in advance. WordPress users-what do you think of this new Guternberg editor? I installed it today and I have mixed thoughts about it. Some things seem easier to use, but I can’t seem to resize images in a gallery so it’s not really working for me at this point.

Reading Update

While I was away I read The Loneliest Girl in the Universe by Lauren James. It was an exciting read and I couldn’t put it down! My review will be coming soon. I also read half of Twisted Tales by Deborah A Stansil. I’m enjoying all the creepy stories.

  1. Congratulations on hitting your NaNo goal!!! That’s so so awesome – a flurry of high fives heading your way.

My host hasn’t done the Gutenberg update, so I haven’t seen the layout yet. I just Googled it and it seems strikingly different? We’ll see how it goes when I get there. 🙂

Looks like you had a lovely vacation! 🙂 Always good to get away with family. 🙂

    • Thanks, Amber! Yes, Gutenberg is quite different. Everything is in blocks that you can move around but I’m finding it a little clunky. I think it’ll be fine once I’ve got the templates for my posts all set up with Gutenberg but it’s time-consuming fiddling about with them at the moment. I’m hoping there will be a lot of improvements once it goes live for everyone.

  2. Happy Birthday. It sounds like you are having the best time. I usually do staycations but I’m thinking I need to go somewhere next time. Have a blast!
