The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer.

It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog. This is your news post, so personalize it! Include as much as you want or as little. Be creative, it can be a vlog or just a showcase of your goodies. Link up once a week or once a month, you decide. Book haul can include library books, yard sale finds, arcs and bought books..share them!

This week in my life

I’m not coping well with this relentless heatwave. I seem to have few summer clothes that actually fit me, and even fewer that are suitable for wearing to work. Why are 95% of my clothes black? I’m melting!

This summer, everyone in England is either obsessing over the World Cup or Love Island and I’m over here like:

Everybody's Talking About Jamie musicalOn Thursday, I went to the cinema to see a live broadcast of a West End musical called Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. A wonderful young dancer and singer called Courtney Bowman, who used to go to our dance school, is performing in it, so a group of us got tickets. It was amazing!

I have loads of thoughts about it that I want to share, so I’ll be doing a seperate post about it later in the week. Stay tuned!

This week on the blog

I hardly managed any blogging this week, but luckily I had scheduled a few posts in advance. Sorry to report that I failed Blog Ahead quite spectacularly. It took me so long to get the posts done that were due to be published during those two weeks that I only had about one scheduled after the challenge ended. Oh well, I tried. I’m also way behind with replying to comments and visiting other blogs. In my defence, I’ve been tied up with Camp NaNoWriMo

Writing Update

Camp NaNoWrimo 2018 badgeWell, I may be kinda failing at blog organisation right now but so far I am winning at Camp NaNoWriMo. I’ve been getting up at 5:30 am every weekday to write and so far I’m on target. I’m travelling a long way today for a family party, though, so I’m not sure how much writing I’ll be able to fit in.

I’ve almost finished the stage of the novel that was based in the MC’s normal world so I’m excited that soon I get to write about all the fun fantasy stuff, yay!

What I’m reading

I’m still reading Carve the Mark, I’ve been so slow getting through it-not because it’s a bad book but I’m just so busy and tired! I am just longing for when the holidays start so I can absorb myself in books properly.

Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth

I keep hearing about these heat waves, and they are the worst! I don’t know why I’m not agonizing here in our typical mid-30s temps (plus tropical humidity) but I’m not. The only thing I can think of is that I don’t have to be “dressed” for work. I can wear what I like, so I’m better dressed for the weather.

I have, however, noticed that earrings make my ears sweat on the hottest days. That’s weird.
    Stay cool!

    • It’s great when you can wear what you want in a heatwave. I seem to have lots of black trousers for work and nothing summery. But in England it’s rarely hot enough to need those kind of clothes, so it’s a waste buying them (or so I thought before this never-ending heatwave hit). Ha, that’s weird about the earrings!
