The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer.

It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog. This is your news post, so personalize it! Include as much as you want or as little. Be creative, it can be a vlog or just a showcase of your goodies. Link up once a week or once a month, you decide. Book haul can include library books, yard sale finds, arcs and bought books..share them!

This week in my life

I’ve had a week off work and it’s been great to spend some time with my family. I’ve been having lots of cuddles and tickles with my toddler and we took her to the park yesterday, which she loved. We also went to see Deadpool 2 (not with my toddler, I hasten to add) and had a huge Pizza Hut feast. It’s been a really fun week and exactly what I needed.

However, I’ve been feeling under the weather since yesterday; I’m achy all over and my lymph nodes have swollen up. Whatever it is, it seems to have sapped all my energy so I’m hoping it won’t last long.

This week on the blog

Guys, I did it. I actually caught up with replying to comments and visiting back! I even got through my backlog of ‘to read’ posts on Feedly. This is a historic moment.

What I’m reading

I’m really enjoying Ready Player One. I love all the geeky 80s pop culture references! So far, this book seems really unique.

I didn’t actually get any new books this week! This is good news for my bank account.

  1. I am glad to hear you had such a restful and enjoyable week with the family 🙂 I’m going to go and see Deadpool 2 tomorrow and I’m looking forward to it! But I am sorry to hear about you falling ill DD: Whatever it is, I do hope it passes soon.

  2. I’m glad you enjoyed your time off. I also did a staycation this past week. I think I’ll be lucky to get around to all the blogs maybe once a month. I hope you feel better quickly. I’m off to bed- I work early tomorrow. Anne – Books of My Heart

    • I love staycations. Going away is great too, but I always come back feeling tired. I like having time at home to rest and catch up with everything. Thanks for visiting, Anne!

My book reading has been slow. I was trying to slog through a free downloaded book called Out of Time by Monique Martin, but she couldn’t seem to decide if she wanted the book to be a romance, sci-fi, or some kind of gangster thriller, so 100 pages in, I quit. I don’t like doing that, but life’s too short.

New task for this read, sift through the titles on my nook and kindle and see what jumps out.

    • That sounds like a strange genre mash-up. I agree, it’s not worth continuing if you’re struggling your way through Hope your next read was better!

  4. Nice that you had a break and got to see a fun movie as well. We’ve just had a long weekend and it’s been lovely hanging around the house today instead of being at work – I could definitely learn to be a stay at home cat mother (if only I could become independentely wealthy to sustain my lifestyle!)

    • Me too! I would love to stay at home all day writing and blogging, it’s a shame I have to pay the bills. But I suppose I would turn into something of a recluse if I didn’t work.

  5. I’m glad you had a nice week off work! I hope you start feeling better soon though. I still need to see Deadpool 2. My brother has seen it though and he really loved it.

    • I recovered pretty quickly, luckily. I live for family and pizza time. Can you believe my husband ate THIRTY slices of pizza that lunchtime? I was in awe.
