Harry Potter Moment of the Week: Would you rather face a dragon or the acromantula?

It’s time for Harry Potter Moment of the Week, hosted by Leah of Uncorked Thoughts and Micheline of Lunar Rainbows Reviews. The idea is to get Harry Potter fans together and discuss our favourite things about the series; be it a favourite moment, character, magical item, spell, quote or object from the books, films or J.K Rowling herself.

You can find the list of future topics here. If you’d like to take part, visit today’s post and sign up with the linky.

Today’s topic: Would you rather face a dragon or the acromantula?

Okay, this one is fairly easy for me to answer because, like Ron, I am deathly afraid of spiders! So I would have to choose the dragon.

A dragon would be a fierce opponent, what with the whole fire-breathing ability and everything, but it would have it’s limitations. I could maybe dive into some water or crawl into a small cave where it couldn’t fit. Plus, I think they’re rather cute and cuddly.

But I’m pretty sure I couldn’t outrun a huge spider or even attempt to fight it because I would be paralysed with fear! Plus there are hundreds of them to defeat, all with multiple eyes, so it would be near impossible to escape (unless you had a flying car), whereas there’s only one dragon.

  1. I’m with you 100%. Dragons might be dangerous but they’re stunning and impressive. Even if one roasted me, I’d rather that than facing a GIANT, hairy, spider :O
