This week’s topic is: Best Bookish Memories.
Here are my top ten:
1) Going to my local bookstore to buy Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at midnight on its release date and seeing everyone in wizard costumes, then staying up all night to read it.
2) Meeting crime thriller author John Connolly at my local bookstore and getting a signed copy of his new book.
3) Seeing Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone at the cinema-my favourite story and characters come to life.
4) Staying up through the night to read Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and crying when I got to the last few chapters as the sun came up and cockerels crowed in my yard.
5) Being part of the Crewel street team last year, promoting Gennifer Albin’s debut novel.
6) My Nanny sending in a poem I’d written for her to a local radio station, which resulted in me winning a set of children’s mystery books.
7) Reading classic books like Moonfleet and The Faraway Tree with my Mum when I was younger. I was lucky to have access to a lot of old and beautifully illustrated books as a child. My Nanny used to read to me things like the Mr. Pinkwhistle stories by Enid Blyton, and lots of funny picture books that I’ll always treasure. I have a beautiful copy of The Complete Adventures of Peter Rabbit addressed from her to me from when I was a baby.
8) Reading books like Danny, Champion of the World by Roald Dahl, the Famous Five series by Enid Blyton, the Goosebumps series and all of Jacqueline Wilson’s books under the covers by torchlight as a child, when I was supposed to be sleeping.
9) Studying 20th century fiction at university and being incredibly moved by novels such as Their Eyes Were Watching God and The Color Purple. I hadn’t experienced books with such a depth of feeling before.
10) Book week at primary school, when we got to spend national book tokens and choose books out of a colourful catalogue. I always used to persuade my mum into buying me books from the Horrible Histories series, and ‘Where’s Wally?’ magazines about different countries.

Classics are my favorites. I've also read some short stories that couldn't be written better. Hard to list a top 10 off the cuff. I'll give it some serious thought though.
Oh my goodness, I have to share your first one! I made the long line at my local bookstore for HP & Deathly Hollows and got home reading up until I had to get dressed for work. Then I read during lunch and as soon as I got home I went back to it. My husband didn't dare bother me until I finished lol
